The Pacific Northwest is one of the few places where flannel is considered an irrefutable part of a man's winter uniform. I've always loved the comfort and ease of a flannel button down shirt and there's really no better backdrop for one than the snowy scenes in Snoqualmie.
With my red buffalo check flannel shirt at the forefront, I framed this outfit with two layers: a denim jacket from Vans and a rain jacket from H&M. I love to layer different types of jackets with varying fabrics/textures to really give a winter outfit some more visual dimension. Some adventures call for a puffy down jacket, but I decided on these two layers for my quick loop around Rattlesnake Lake. I finished this ensemble with a sturdy pair of navy blue boots from Aldo.
There are so many ways to wear flannel during the winter, like with joggers and a dad hat or with jeans and chelsea boots. Even if you don't live in the Pacific Northwest, a flannel is a stylish staple for any winter wardrobe.
