Everywhere I travel to, I make it my mission to find a good coffee shop. Coffee is one of those simple pleasures that I've become obsessed with over time. The whole experience—from walking into a cozy coffeehouse, to taking that last sip from a ceramic mug—is an enchanting one. Portland takes its coffee (and basically all food and drink) seriously, so finding the perfect spot to become caffeinated should've been easy. But therein lies the problem, there are just so many beautifully decorated, passionate coffee roasters in this city to choose from.
This whole time I've been in Portland, I've finally realized that there's one local coffeehouse chain that has my heart: Barista. With four locations in distinctly different neighborhoods of Portland, this coffee chain has become a mainstay for local java lovers. Their first location in the Pearl District is the one I frequent the most. It's hard not to love the industrial chic vibes this neighborhood has, especially from the vantage point of Barista's deck.
I'm kind of in love with the Pearl District's geofilter on Snapchat, so naturally I always try to grab a few architecture snaps for My Story (my username is jgooding92). My go-to drink at Barista is an iced vanilla latte (recommended to me by my friend Sara), but sometimes I'll get a semi-sweet mocha just for the pretty minimalist coffee cup. Since Barista is dedicated to serving exceptional coffees from the world's finest roasters, I can always trust that my drink will be smooth and delicious.
Coffee isn't the only thing on sale at Barista, they also have a unique variety of branded gifts for those who are eager to jump on the Barista bandwagon with me. I'd love one of these posters for my own place, click any of them to be brought to Barista's online store.
