There are few things I keep closer to my heart than my iPhone, and I say that in the physical sense, not the metaphorical one. Seriously, I can't remember the last time I was more than 5 feet away from my iPhone. It should come as no surprise that I was ecstatic to see Apple finally revealed their iPhone 6 models.
The improved screen sizes, advanced Retina HD Display, extended battery life, revamped design and heightened iSight camera are all reasons why I'll be getting in the virtual pre-order line for this device. As someone who curates their Instagram as a digital museum of their life, the feature I was most intrigued in was the new 8MP camera with f/2.2 aperture that will let in more light.
The hardware is not the only thing about the new iPhone that has changed. The Steve-Jobs-created company also announced it would launch Apple Pay, a mobile app that carries digital credit and debit cards so that you can pay for things with in a single tap. Using your fingerprint and the iPhone's Touch ID technology, you'll be able to pay for just about anything without ever having to open a traditional wallet or purse ever again. The safe, convenient mobile app will work with major banks and retailers, meaning you won't have to jump through any hoops to starting using your phone to buy things.
The most surprising product announcement made was on the Apple Watch, a wearable piece of technology that does everything under the sun. From running your favorite third-party apps, to tracking your fitness, the Watch will be a welcome accessory to any iPhone owner. Although there really isn't much effort needed to pull your iPhone out of your pocket (unless maybe you're thinking of owning the 5.5" model), the Watch gives you a seamless way to digest the information shared in your personal world. By using Siri and a touch screen, the Watch does so much more than tell time. In a variety of designs, clock faces and bands, the Apple Watch is the most stylish and uniquely personalized product the company has released to date.
The Apple iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are available for pre-order on September 12, Apple Pay rolls out in October and Apple Watch is slated to be released in early 2015.
