White is undeniably the color (or absence of color) of this summer season. In Seattle, you really do have to wait for the sunniest of days for the whites of your wardrobe to stand out. That's why I was so happy that the sun was shining on me while I took a walk around Green Lake Park.
This outfit was created almost entirely with my recent haul of products from Asos. I love the muted colors of my tie-dye sweatshirt that give it a 90s look and feel. Although it's long-sleeved, the light cotton kept me comfortably cool. The crisp chino shorts are equally breathable and really easy to dress up or down, like I did here. I purchased a pair of Nike SB Stefan Janoski shoes from Nordstrom to complete the clean ensemble. Although white is incredibly difficult to keep clean, I know I'll get a lot of use out of my new Nikes.
I love the idea of wearing a long-sleeve top with shorts for a more sophisticated silhouette. This combo is also perfect for when the sun sets and your looking for extra warmth for your arms. If you try this look yourself, remember to cuff your shorts and push your sleeves up during the day. Whether it's with shorts, shoes or accessories, the only way to be cool this summer is to be white hot.
