Graduation is a crowning achievement, so it's only natural to treat your cap like a crown. When I learned we could decorate our caps to our hearts content, I jumped at the chance to glamorize mine.
- Fabric pen
- Letter stickers
- Glitter glue
Before you go crafting crazy, plan what you are going to say or design on your cap. The last thing you want is to be missing a letter you need or run out of paint because you didn't allocate enough resources to the design. To achieve a lighter stripe on the cap, I used the white paint pen to shade the fabric. Use multiple coats for a more contrasting effect. For the cursive "stop" on my cap, I first outlined the word with another gold fabric pen and then went over it with glitter glue. Finally, I delicately added the letters on the cap.
I love the quote "Never stop dreaming" because I want this to be a reminder of all I've worked for and all I can achieve. If I stop dreaming of the big picture, I'll forget what I'm capable of. I love the varying angles of the text that show my interests lie in a million different directions. Of course there is a healthy heaping of glitter because I want my parents to point me out in the huge collegiate crowd on Sunday.
