Traveling has always been one of my favorite hobbies. Maybe "hobby" isn't the right word, but I definitely want to make it a hobby. The thrill of exploring a new city is a feeling I'm always craving. I've been lucky enough to travel a lot (Las Vegas, New York and San Francisco this year alone), but there are still some international destinations I'm dying to discover ... and blog about.
My great grandmother on my mother's side came from Sicily to New York before settling in Portland. I've always wanted to trace back my Italian heritage and uncover the history of some of Italy's biggest landmarks. I've eaten a lifetime of Italian food, so tasting it straight from the source would be amazing (Gelato anyone?). I want to visit Milan, Rome, Florence, Sicily and, most of all, Venice. I think the floating buildings and gondolas are so romantic. I'd love to visit right during Carnevale so I could wear a Venetian face mask and go to cool parties. Having studied Latin for four years, seeing the sights of Rome I've read so much about would be really cool.
Sometimes I think I was French in another life, I just love everything about the country's language, culture, architecture and food. France is home to so many of my favorite designers, namely CHANEL. Sipping champagne in the actual province of Champagne sounds like a dream. Doing other cliché things like visiting the Eiffel Tower, Cathedralé Notre Dame de Paris and putting a padlock on the Pont de l'Archevêché are definitely on my bucket list.
I'm obsessed with English accents, fashion and celebrities. One of my favorite brands, Topman, originated in jolly old England. I have an inkling I'd feel right at home rubbing shoulders with royalty while visiting British hierarchical landmarks. While I love coffee, I'd have no problem enjoying tea and cookies on the daily. Double dutch buses, classic phone booths and plenty of fish and chips are things I'd love to photograph.
I'd love to learn about other cultures and experience them in real life. I think traveling opens your eyes to different perspectives and allows you to see beyond your own little world. I'd love to see as much of this Earth as I possibly can, but if I was able to visit only these three places, I'd die happy.
