I often catch myself daydreaming about decorating my first apartment. I can already tell you Crate & Barrel will be the first place I visit when I eventually sign a new lease. For now, I'm living at home in a quiet suburb of Seattle. While I can't have the dream space I've always wanted just yet, I'm definitely making the most of my bedroom by adding the details from my old college dorm rooms.
I painted my bedroom blue, green and brown while I was in high school and luckily I'm still a fan of the color palette now. I loved the shape of a square so I painted them above where my bed full size bed would be. My bedding compliments the color scheme and dominates the room. All of the remaining furniture is modern with natural light wood finishes albeit from Ikea. What I love about my uncluttered desk space is that it's lit by whatever sunlight I get from the large window. It's the ideal place for me to blog and listen to music.
You may recognize the Instagram photography I printed via Foxgram on my wall. I couldn't have left Gonzaga without those photos, along with my New York skyline poster. I created a little seating area with my green chair and turquoise ottoman that's perfect for curling up with one of the many books I have lining my bookshelf.
I love my room. It may not be featured in Sunset magazine anytime soon, but it's a comfy area that's full of memories and things I love. The room must be nice enough because my cat is always hanging out in here.
