Some brands carry so much more than clothing, they carry a legacy, a cultural revolution and an intangible quality that defines itself in time and space. Levi's is one of those brands that materializes American culture and design. I love my Levi's jeans, and millions of people around the world do too. Now with the Spring/Summer 2014 collection of Levi's Made & Crafted there's more clothing for Levi's fans to love.
The Made & Crafted line comprises of three elements that set it apart from the expansive array of garments in the Levi's brand: patience in construction, fabrics and details. This S/S 2014 collection has bright colors, laid back styling and a California cool in every piece. Part of this is due to the brand's collaboration with WAX Magazine, a bi-annual surfer culture magazine based (unexpectedly) in Brooklyn.
This bright red and white design transforms the classic button down into it's own work of art that breaks all conventions. I love how the design starts small and compacted, then gradually lengthens and spaces out as the eyes travel from collar to shirt tail. I'd love to see this with a pair of khakis, a jean jacket and some Ray Bans for a casual look.
There's no way I could make a blog post about Levi's without featuring a pair of their signature jeans. I love the shade of the Italian fabric that's been sanded, stonewashed and bleached. What's even more unique are the back pockets which have only a faint reminder of the classic V-shape stitching that makes Levi's jeans so iconic. Rock these jeans with faded colors for a cohesive outfit.
This crew sweatshirt is bold yet simple. The primary color palette will look great in spring. Let the sweatshirt shine with understated neutral pieces. Match your accessories by pulling one color from the sweatshirt's color palette. Wearing this to a party or social gathering will help you earn some clothing compliments.
This cotton, rayon-blend dress is breathable and chic for summer escapades on the beach. With a modest neckline in the front and a seductive dip in the back, this dress is effortlessly sexy. Upon closer inspection, the stripe detailing is multi-faceted and fun. Like the model is doing, wear this dress with some chunky jewelry and equally chunky sandals for a flirty ensemble.
Keeping with the detail-oriented theme of the collection, this Italian silk shirt has a subtle pattern that resembles currents of water that go unnoticed from far away. Jewel tones like this are on trend this season, so you can compliment it with other jewel tones like deep violet for a luxurious look.
A fashionista staple, the denim jacket works with wardrobes of any style. The monochromatic color-blocked details on the inner seams and cuffs are freshly fashionable. You can copy the model with a denim on denim look, or you can wear a graphic crop top underneath when it gets warmer out.
