Over the almost four years I've been at Gonzaga, I've slowly learned how to dress for the snowy weather. I think that's always been the biggest challenge for a fashionisto like me who prefers spring's color palette and flexibility. Today I decided to take inspiration from L.L. Bean, Eddie Bauer and especially Ralph Lauren's Modern Explorer collection with this Americana ensemble.
The denim on denim trend really comes in handy in harsh weather conditions because the fabric is durable and warm. Of course, a good rule of thumb for this trend is to always break up the denim with some other colors and warm textures.
My first layer is just a basic thermal from Hollister Co., layered over it is a 1901 plaid shirt from Nordstrom and my most protective layer is a Vans denim jacket. I kept my head warm with a H&M knit beanie. On the other half of my body, I'm wearing Ralph Lauren boots and Hollister Co. jeans. I love the boots because they're so rustic and outdoorsy.
I love this cozy outfit because it reminds me of the comforts of my wooded Western Washington home. Some other accessories that would go perfectly with this outfit are a good book and a cup of hot chocolate.
