A trend I'm in love with is denim on denim. Well, denim is just one of my favorite fabrics in general because it's so versatile and comfortable. With this outfit, I combined three different shades of denim for a fun look that's bright, edgy, and polished all at the same time.
I started with my favorite black Levi's skinny jeans, then added a mint and gray striped tank from H&M. Now this would be a good outfit on it's own, but now that the temperature has dropped, it's time to cover up my noodle arms.
Putting a Hollister Co. button down in a light wash adds some contrast against the black, yet it also compliments the mint. The pièce de résistance is my Vans jacket which adds that final layer of cool to the entire outfit.
You can achieve a look just like this too if you have three completely different washes of denim. Don't pair washes that are only a micro-shade different from each other. I wouldn't recommend going past the rule of three either, because you don't want to look like Britney Spears & Justin Timberlake at the 2001 VMAs.
You can also play this trend up by adding denim in dark colors, like maroon, plum or forest green. Keep your accessories neutral or in the same color palette if you do this.
Dare to be different, don denim on denim (just not denim on denim on denim on denim).
